Saturday, December 9, 2023 5pm to 6pm
60 College Ave, Annapolis, MD 21401
Join us in FSK Lobby to hear about the history and ideas behind the Librería Donceles project (Spanish-language bookstore and Social Practice Art Project, currently on view at the Mitchell Art Museum).
Pablo Helguera, founding artist and former head of Arts Education at the MOMA, will be joined by the "Madrinas" of the Librería Donceles, Brooklyn-based artist, Gabriela Galván and Arts Administrator for the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, Mayra Cecilia Palafox.
Over the course of an hour, they will reminisce on their friendship that spurred the project on, the sociological/philosophical underpinnings of this 10-year old project, and the sweetly funny stories that have come up as it has traveled from place to place (Paris, Anchorage, New York, Santa Cruz, Los Angeles, to name a few).
This event will be free and open to the public!
To attend this talk, please send us an RSVP to mitchellartmuseum@sjc.edu.
We hope to see you there!!
