DESCRIPTION:Behold This Compost brings together work by St. John's College
students and staff in an exhibition exploring cycles of transformation in
the natural world and the self. Inspired by Walt Whitman's 1856 poem This
Compost\, the exhibition considers growth and decay not as opposing forces
\, but as interconnected processes that shape identity\, memory\, and rene
 wal.\n\nAcross painting\, photography\, sculpture\, and installation\, par
ticipating artists engage with themes of regeneration\, environmental chan
ge\, evolving identities\, and the porous boundaries between humanity and
nature. The exhibition reflects on the continual processes through which p
laces\, bodies\, and communities are remade\, inviting viewers to consider
transformation as an essential condition of life.\n\nBringing together a
wide range of artistic practices\, Behold This Compost celebrates the crea
tive vitality of the St. John's community while fostering dialogue between
personal experience\, ecological systems\, and the rhythms of the natural
  world.
