This lecture is a sustained meditation on divine semiotics in Scripture, based on a quotation from Thomas Aquinas's Summa Theologica:  "Holy Writ by the manner of its speech excels all knowledge, because in one and the same sentence, while it describes a fact, it reveals a mystery."
