The Platypus Affiliated Society is pleased to announce its first event of the year! On Saturday, October 3, we will be hosting authors, teachers, and political commentators Ben Burgis and Mike Beggs for How Can Socialism Work? An Interview and Conversation. The event will begin with an interview with Professors Burgis and Beggs regarding their perspectives on the connections between philosophy and policy. Afterwards we will open up the discussion to questions from attendees.

The Platypus Affiliated Society organizes reading groups, public fora, research and journalism focused on the problems and tasks inherited across the history of emancipatory politics. This event is open to participation from all members of the polity and will be held on Saturday, October 3 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Conversation Room of Mellon Hall. If you have any questions, please email us at platypussjc@gmail.com.
