Few artists have shaped the sound of modern folk rock like Richard Thompson. A co-founder of the groundbreaking Fairport Convention at just 18, Thompson helped invent the British Folk Rock genre and hasn’t stopped redefining it since.

Widely revered for both his guitar mastery and his razor-sharp songwriting, Thompson has been called “the finest rock songwriter after Dylan and the best electric guitarist since Hendrix” by the Los Angeles Times. Rolling Stone ranked him among the Top 100 Guitarists of All Time, and his influence spans decades and genres.

His iconic ballad “1952 Vincent Black Lightning” earned a spot on TIME Magazine’s list of 100 Greatest Songs Since 1923 and his songs have been recorded by legends across the musical spectrum, including Robert Plant, Elvis Costello, Bonnie Raitt, R.E.M., Tom Jones, and Del McCoury to name a few.

His latest album, Ship to Shore (May 2024), proves he’s still pushing creative boundaries after more than five decades. Whether wielding an acoustic or electric, Richard Thompson remains a force - and this show is your chance to see a true master at work.
